UNIQUE INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE
100 years of family history
1924
1st Generation: Nick Evelich started as a Mechanical Insulator & Asbestos worker in NYC. Born to immigrant parents from Croatia and raised in NYC’s Hell’s Kitchen. He entered the Insulation Industry before the Great Depression and worked throughout NYC. Newly married and after about 5 years of hard work, his great work habits and the use of his savings when not working enabled him and his family to survive this country’s Great Depression. This combination of work history and the difficulties of our country’s Great Depression instilled valuable beliefs, habits, and work ethics into Nick and his family for generations to follow.
1952 - 1958
2nd Generation: Vincent Evelich and Robert Evelich Sr entered the insulation industry as a Mechanical Insulator & Asbestos worker in NYC. They worked in Schools, Hospitals, office buildings, Airports, & Powerhouses, till they both went into Business. Robert J Evelich served as an MP (Military Police) for Military service. He was stationed in Germany after the war from 1956-1957. He also traveled throughout Europe during the time he served.
1960 - 1984
Vincent Evelich and Robert Evelich Sr. started Evelich Insulation in Guttenberg NJ and later moved the office to North Bergen NJ. Performed various jobs in the tri-state area. Post offices, hospitals, schools, correctional facilities, office buildings pharmaceuticals, and more. Robert Sr. handled the field supervision, Vincent handled Estimating /contracts, and Virgina Evelich did the books.
1985
Vincent Evelich continued in the Insulation Industry as a Sr. Estimator. Using his years of experience, he was a major part of landing jobs at Airports, Correctional Facilities, office buildings, and government facilities, throughout the NYC area. His eye for detail, job conditions, spec details, and recalling specifics through the years, made him truly unique. Around the year 2000 he moved to consulting and providing his estimation and industry knowledge to different companies.
Robert Sr. started R&R Enterprises doing commercial insulation. At 17 years old I was driving the company van and making material deliveries to various jobs. During the summers Robert Jr. worked part time on some of the jobs. This was the start of a better understanding of how to do the work, experience job conditions, and work with trades. Robert Sr officially retired in 2002.
1989-1994
3Rd Generation: With direction from Robert Evelich Sr, it was suggested that Robert Jr. officially enter the trade as a Mechanical Insulator to further learn the business. Robert Jr. started working in NYC. and then worked with family relative Fred Tiscornia who was also an Insulation Mechanic. Robert Jr. worked for various companies in the NYC area and gained an understanding of how to do the work, work with others and experience many different types of jobs and various job conditions.
1995-1997
After working several years in the field, Robert Jr. worked in the R&R office for Robert Sr. Made material deliveries and started to learn estimating and the office end of the business. Robert Jr. was going to different offices to take off plans and return to the office to price up the jobs.
1997-2002
Robert Evelich Jr. started Evelich II Insulation Corp. in 1998. Originally operating out of a rented garage, then an office in Little Ferry NJ. In 2003 moved to its current Headquarters in Wallington, NJ. During the start of the business, Robert started everything from the ground up. This involved learning on his own with trial and error and learning what was needed. While this was certainly very hard, it also enabled him to know how to do all aspects of the business. In the past as well as today, this history gives Evelich II Insulation a unique way to look at the complete business. To see what works, what needs to change, what needs to be updated for current times, etc.
2002-2020
At this time Robert Jr. was already in business for several years and was Estimating all projects on his own. With the need for help with the estimating load, Vincent Evelich and Robert Jr. started to work together. With Vincents eye for detail and an extremely detailed way of pricing jobs, changed how Robert Jr. looked at and estimated jobs from that point on. After a few years of this, Robert Jr took this knowledge and put it into an Estimating program. Over many years in Business, a very reputable office team, project management, and estimating team were developed. Today we still hold on to traditional values but take advantage of the digital and automation age to be more efficient. Also, during this time Robert Jr’s brother Ronald Evelich joined the team. Ronald became a valuable and knowledgeable foreman that runs many jobs.
